Chapter 12: Conclusion: international entrepreneurship – learning points and implications
We hope the book has inspired the reader to reflect on important issues raised in the field of international entrepreneurship. Ever since it was identified as an academic field, the business environment has been constantly changing and research issues have also changed and will keep on changing in the future. The issues that have been raised in this book concerning growth, development, leadership, organization, networks and sales are all important topics to consider because managers have to align their decisions with the ever changing market conditions. Furthermore, the book has discussed the issues of international entrepreneurship in emerging markets, an area which appears to become even more important in the future. Finally, the importance of family, gender and individual motivations for the international development of firms have been examined. We briefly highlight some of the essential points of the chapters of the book in the three thematic parts, as follows.
