Bart Clarysse holds a PhD in applied economics from Ghent University (1996). He is a Professor of Innovation and Technology Management at Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School and at Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium). He has carried out various projects concerning technology management for national and international organizations such as OECD, IWT (Vlaams Instituut voor de Aanmoediging van Innovatie door Wetenschap en Technologie), the European Commission, and has published internationally in this domain. Since 1998, he has been a scientific adviser for the IWT with regard to Flemish innovation and technology policy. He was also involved in the start-up of several high-tech companies. He has written several international publications in the field of R&D management and technology policy in journals such as Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Research Policy, International Journal of Technology Management and Science Technology and Industry Review. Dr Clarysse is the Scientific Director of the Gate2Growth Academic Network in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Finance. Juan Roure is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the IESE Business School (University of Navarra, Barcelona, Spain). His areas of interest include innovation, entrepreneurship and new ventures, strategy and negotiation as a management process. Dr Roure holds a PhD in engineering management from Stanford University (USA), an MBA from ESADE (Spain), a degree in industrial engineering from the Polytechnic University of Cataluña (Spain), and an Individual Study Project (IPS) from the Graduate School of Business Administration, Harvard University (USA).
