Chapter two discusses the following questions: what makes an aquifer complex? when do countries have a transboundary aquifer and not just a domestic aquifer? In addition, it will highlight how transboundary aquifers and their management are relevant also for many other socio-economic and environmental realities, climate change and sustainable development in particular.
