Restricted access

The chapter functions as an introduction to the Handbook of Feminist Methodologies in Management and Organization Studies. The book celebrates the richness of feminist methodologies focusing on qualitative research. It traces important theoretical developments and their methodological consequences both within established theoretical debates as well as in those that has gained more foothold in MOS research more recently including feminist postcolonial theory, critical race theory and feminist posthumanism. The chapter focuses on three key themes of feminist research visible throughout the chapters of the book: epistemologies of feminist research, the politics of knowledge in feminist research as well as care, responsibility and response-ability in feminist research. The chapter further introduces the book’s four parts. The first part focuses on feminist theories and methodologies, the second on feminist critique and methodological responses, the third on data and knowing subjects and, the fourth on doing feminist research. The book is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students and scholars in MOS in addition to researchers in other social science disciplines.
