In this final chapter, we reflect on the overarching themes. that the thirteen chapters speak to, they are: i) problematizing the concept of gender and innovation; ii) analysing gender and innovation in different contexts, and examining policy and, iii) governance issues regarding support interventions. Intersectionality is the unifying theme, highlighting both the heterogeneity of women innovators and the additional challenges associated with the diversity of intersecting social categories. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the implications for policy and practice, and also reflects on the directions for future research.
