Chapter 7: Assessing student learning in sustainability education
Restricted access

In this chapter, we reflect on our experiences of assessing student learning in sustainability education via our roles as module leaders of the post-graduate modules "CSR, Sustainable Development and Public Policy" (module code BSM944) (CSR for short) and "Strategic Business Sustainability" (module code BHM328) (SBS for short), at Aston Business School. Learning in these two modules is formally assessed through a reflective report and case studies and informally via weekly group presentations and exercises. We provide some direct reflections of students who have studied both modules either in the same term or in consecutive terms. What generally becomes very explicit in our chapter is that the CSR and SBS modules act in a converging, towards one another, manner in enhancing student learning of sustainable development and sustainability.
