Learning online does not have to be boring, difficult or perfunctory. It can and should be engaging and innovative. Using different materials, assignment types and teaching techniques is part of modern pedagogical thinking that can make teaching and learning an enlightening experience for all involved. In this chapter we will discuss tools, assessment, gamification of assignments and other techniques to increase engagement. There will also be some suggested enhancements of pedagogical approaches offered.
