In this chapter, the authors examine the link between operations strategy and sustainable supply chain management. To examine operations strategy, theyadopt a content approach and distinguish between strategy formulation (that is, competitive priorities, operations strategy taxonomies) and strategy implementation (that is, structural and infrastructural strategic choices). To examine sustainablesupply chain management, theydistinguish between internal and external (downstream and upstream) supply chain practices. After a detailed literature review, theydevelop a framework and discuss suggestions for future research.
