The interest in sustainable supply chain management has risen significantly in recent years. Sustainability is the consideration of environmental factors and social aspects. The purpose of this chapter is to discuss what a fully sustainable supply chain might look like and the consequences that can be drawn from this view. Also, it discusses the product design and how it plays a major role in sustainability of supply chain management. The chapter discusses an analytical framework for the assessment of approaches for the measurement and management of sustainability performance of supply chains. This chapter provides a structured overview of sustainability supply chain concept and approaches to supply chain management. The framework proposed provides a foundation for further research.
