Public administrationresearch and practice has a shadowland of often poorly mapped and researched practice. Academic public administration must take note of the need to focus research on wicked issues, especially those that will bedevil future generations such as climate change, demographic change, technological change and austerity. New research needs to address the paucity of multi-disciplinary engagement with these areas.
