While the various authors of this Handbook were writing their chapters, the COVID-19 pandemic erupted and evolved as a typical complex, self-organizing system. The complexity of the highly connected global network of cities played a central role in the space-time diffusion of the pandemic all over the world. In this Epilogue, some of the authors of this Handbook briefly examine the pandemic from the specific point of view of their research domains.
