Chapter 30: Fostering soft-skills development through learning experience platforms (LXPs)
Restricted access

As businesses undergo the process of digital transformation, their needs for employee and management development evolve. Future managers need to develop new skills that will help them adapt to changing digital ways of working. Many organizations, including business schools, have been focusing on soft skills as a way to enable faster adaptation to rapid changes. Digital platforms mixing targeted assessment tools, targeted development materials, and guided training curricula provide opportunities to identify and develop soft skills in students and employees. This chapter explores cases in major companies and mid-sized business schools in Europe that are using a learning experience platform (LXP) to meet their soft-skills management training needs. The combination of assessment, training, and development in one digital platform creates value by making learning and management development more consistent, effective, and personalized.
