This chapter provides an overview of the role of technology in Knowledge Management. It first describes the evolution of KM technologies over time, followed by providing some classification of the current KM technologies based on two different perspectives; as supporting the knowledge flows cycle and, as supporting the Codification or Personalization KM strategies approaches. A section is dedicated to the increasing role of AI in KM solutions, describing their connections. Finally, a discussion about the role that KM plays in Digital Transformation is presented. Each section ends with some future research issues, gaps, challenges, opportunities, and trends.
