Chapter 3: Using ESPN 30 for 30 to teach economics - revisited
Restricted access

In recent years, there has been an increase in interdisciplinary resources that use popular media to incorporate interactive teaching techniques in economics classrooms. This chapter incorporates the use of ESPN 30 for 30 series as an active learning pedagogical tool and extends on the work we first introduced in 2015. We provide examples from the most recent season (Season 4) including pedagogical approaches. These documentaries are in-depth, cover social issues, and engage viewers through a story to allow a more enjoyable learning experience for students by allowing them to connect world events to the classroom content.
