This chapter describes strategies and approaches to integrating problem-based and research-focused teaching in international relations. It starts by situating these strategies in literature on active and engaged learning, laying out key aspects of problem-based and research-focused teaching and learning. It then offers suggestions for incorporating the strategies into classes to promote and enhance student learning outcomes. The chapter concludes with observations about the opportunities and challenges of this approach.
