Cape Town Convention Journal (CTCJ) is an international review of the law and practice arising from the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment. The Journal seeks to assist scholars, practising lawyers, judges and other government officials, and industry by providing information on and education about the treaty. Together with a comprehensive, digitised, and searchable repository of primary and secondary materials the Journal is at the heart of these informational and education objectives. CTCJ is a Diamond Open Access Journal and is the official journal of the Cape Town Convention academic Project. The Project is a joint undertaking between the University of Cambridge and UNIDROIT. The Aviation Working Group (AWG) is the founding sponsor of the Project. The open access is funded by the University of Cambridge.

The Journal seeks to assist scholars, practising lawyers, judges and other government officials, and industry by providing information on and education about the treaty. Together with a comprehensive, digitised, and searchable repository of primary and secondary materials the Journal is at the heart of these informational and education objectives. The Journal focuses on in-depth, qualitative analysis of important or complex topics.

Submissions
Author Guidelines
The Board of Editors of the Cape Town Convention Journal (CTCJ) will only consider submissions which comply with the below style and submission guidelines.
The CTCJ publishes articles that focus on in-depth, qualitative analysis of important, difficult or complex topics related to the 2001 Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and its protocols. It particularly encourages the submission of innovative and original articles whose theme or content illuminate several of these vast subject areas or tackle them in an inter-disciplinary context. Articles which do no more than rehearse familiar and well-known material should not be submitted.
Each submission must be an original, unpublished work not currently under the consideration for publication elsewhere. Our exclusive submission policy means you cannot submit your manuscript to another journal until you have received a decision from us. If you wish to submit to another journal, you must withdraw your article from consideration by the CTCJ.
Three types of submissions are accepted for publication in the CTCJ:
- long articles - should not exceed 12,000 words (excluding footnotes) and can be solicited or unsolicited;
- short papers (shorter articles, comments and notes) - should not exceed 6,000 words (including footnotes) and can be solicited or unsolicited;
- reports on conference proceedings - should not exceed 5,000 words (including footnotes) and are by invitation only.
