Introduction to Cases on Arts Entrepreneurship
Full access

This introduction chapter presents the rationale for this book: engaging with case studies in arts entrepreneurship as a means to gain a broader sense of the field of arts entrepreneurship. Case studies are common in business but less so in the arts, however their value is transferable. The authors of the case studies in this book represent a wide cross section of arts disciplines and write from deep experience as both secondary and post-secondary arts educators and practitioners in the fields of arts entrepreneurship. They write about themselves or about other arts entrepreneurs. The book can be used for classroom study, as a resource for educators, administrators, business owners, consultants, or for self-study, and can provide a competitive edge.
