In this chapter I consider some of the issues and tactics you can use when you have a small group of students to teach. The importance of building relationships with students is discussed and I have approached this by considering aspects of the students’ different personalities; in particular introverts and extroverts. Teaching tips include how to approach setting boundaries, covering how you and the students will work together, the importance of doing so and, additionally, how to maximise student participation and engagement. I include some advice on ‘teaching by learning’ and how it can be used to good effect. The chapter concludes with some final thoughts on how each student is unique and that this should be valued.
