This chapter offers a number of useful tips as to how to construct and deliver a confident presentation. It is based upon my experience as a lecturer teaching large classes, observing colleagues and watching academics deliver presentations at conferences across the world. The tips are by no means exhaustive and on the face of things may seem obvious. It is surprising, however, how often the tips are neglected by academics even though standing in front of an audience occurs frequently as an academic. It is my hope that this chapter will be very useful for lecturers and PhD students who have recently started teaching.
