This chapter deals with the mobility of minors and young adults by taking Soninke youths from the villages of the Senegal River Valley (Mali, Mauritania, Senegal) as study populations. It analyzes proximity migration in the rural Soninke area, migration to the capitals and African cities (Dakar, Bamako), and migration to the new frontiers of Europe (Morocco). It deciphers the logics of autonomy and emancipation at the heart of these mobilities, the migratory paths and trajectories and the various figures that are constructed throughout the experiences lived during the journey and within the framework of road socialization.
