Entrepreneurial activity offers many valuable potential opportunities to be taken advantage of, alongside several serious challenges to overcome. Female entrepreneurship presents additional cultural barriers for growth, even more so in emerging market regions, such as Latin America, where the turbulent business environment is characterized by the absence of resources and weak institutions. By using extensive interviews with eleven representative members of the ‘Picanter'as Society of Arequipa’, this chapter aims to describe how a group of high-growth Peruvian women entrepreneurs has dealt with the lack of resources in the environment using formal and informal managerial mechanisms. The authors found that the women entrepreneurs obtained several benefits after the adoption of a network configuration, which led them to be granted Nation’s Cultural Heritage recognition and to develop an inside mentoring programme, both initiatives aiming for their high-growth performance. Paths for future research are presented at the end of the chapter.
