Strategic technology alliances are agreements between and among firms, universities and research organizations that focus primarily on the generation, exchange, adaptation and exploitation of technical advances. According to Vonortas, strategic technology alliances may include R&D joint ventures, joint R&D agreements, licensing and cross-licensing agreements and research contracts.
