The turn towards design within mobilities research is maturing and a number of studies connecting mobilities theory and design-orientated approaches indicates an emerging field of mobilities design. The methods cover architectural mappings, design interventions, ethnographic observations, qualitative interviews, eye-tracking detection and thermal (heat-sensitive) cameras. We illustrate the methods with research conducted in two cases: an airport and a metro. The chapter illustrates that a situational-mobilities approach to analysis and design brings together important novel techniques, methods and ways of understanding mobilities.
