This chapter focuses on the relationship between European Union law and national criminal law. Thus, it provides an account of the main ways in which national criminal law is affected by European Union law. It deals with: (i) the positive obligations stemming from EU law; (ii) the negative obligations stemming from EU law and; (iii) the ways in which the norms of EU law and national law are integrated with each other.
