In the development of geoparks, the presence of aesthetically and scientifically important geosites should be complemented with effective management structures that involve key stakeholders and local communities. This chapter proposes a management framework based on public–private partnership (PPP) for sustainable geopark development. By investigating the case of Masungi Geoserve, a karst landscape geopark in the Philippines, we aim to illustrate how the public and private sectors collaborate in geopark development; and develop a framework to strengthen their partnership, particularly in developing countries. The proposed PPP framework fosters a more concerted effort of all stakeholders involved in geopark development. This chapter can be a useful reference for policy makers and tourism administrators who seek to adopt geotourism, and in the planning and management of geoparks in developing countries.
