The geodesign tool described in this chapter is based on qualitative input only. It was used to support collaborative workshops in Mozambique where the problem to be supported was ill defined and the data quality was uncertain. The design of the tool is simple but based on experiences and concepts from sophisticated geodesign tools as applied in the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. This tool required no predefined spatial units, attributes or spatial model. The workshops produced two types of output: maps and workshop notes. Generating these outputs within the setting of a collaborative process resulted in active participation, and produced good results together with a feeling of joint ownership of these results. Feedback from the participants showed that the graphic interface appealed to the participants and the absence of a quantitative model was not seen as a problem.
