Andrew J. Nelson and Stefano Cazzago

According to an emergent literature, culture matters to innovation; Nelson and Cazzago explore commonalities among several levels of analysis, including national, regional, industry and professional, and organizational perspectives. Opportunities exist for future research: there yet remains many understudied areas related to innovation within specific contexts, culture is dynamic and changes over time, and there may be interactions among various levels of analysis. Finally, how does culture relate to other determinants of innovation and, perhaps more obviously, how do we use it to define and conceptualize innovation itself?
