This chapter highlights the distress migration experience and child protection challenges migrant children face en route to and while in Lesvos, Greece, during one of the greatest mass displacements of people since the Second World War. Through their testimonies, this chapter emphasizes the psychological, physical, and social impact of distressed migration on the thousands of migrant children stranded in an ill-equipped European country that struggles to protect their basic human rights. Efforts to promote and increase resilience among migrant children are also discussed.
