Luciano Brancaccio and Vittorio Martone

This chapter examines the economic nature of various Camorra groups historically based in the areas around Naples and Caserta in Campania. It highlights the entrepreneurial role of these groups and their rootedness in local markets, both legal and illegal, while tracing the differences between clans operating in the city and those in the provinces. The case studies chosen focus on clans active in the counterfeit and clothing markets and in the international car trade.
