Chapter 3: Exploring an Ideal New Economy for Asia: The Path from the One to the Many
1 Chi-ha Kim What is the task ahead of us now? What is the name of the task? The name of the task is none other than ‘The Path from the One to the Many’. Why is that so? The accumulation of past deficiencies that did not appropriately understand the relationship between money and mind while failing to solve the problem between the one and the many resulted in the current economic crisis, the cultural crisis, and the global crisis called ‘Big Chaos’. That is why we are gathered here today. That is why the subject that we should discuss today to find solutions is none other than ‘The Path from the One to the Many’. It is indeed now time to properly understand and solve the relationship between money and mind from the path. A decade and a couple of years ago, I came across the following passage in an old manuscript written by Marx: ‘Money is unrelated to mind. And the many and the one are never identical.’ In truth, this passage does not exist. Such, however, is the conclusion that can be drawn from many statements by Marx. Since the beginning of their self-aware history, humans have never liberated money from their mind and have never liberated their mind from money in their general condition of existence.
