The majority of research on VC's decision making has produced empirically derived lists of VC' "espoused" criteria - criteria they report they use when evluating either global measures of performance (c.f., MacMillan et al. 1987) or likely profitability (c.f., Roure and Keeley 1990). Few researchers have investigated VC's assessment of new venture survival.
