Ms. Ghunaimat is the first woman to be editor-in-chief of an Arabic daily newspaper in the Middle East. Prior to that appointment she was a deputy editor and head of the economic section of the newspaper. She studied at the University of Jordan where she earned a degree in political science. Before joining Al Ghad, she worked for a number of media outlets including Al-Rai Arabic daily newspaper, published by the Jordan Press Foundation, and as a freelance journalist and opinion writer. Considered a media leader in the region, she has participated in World Economic Forum events on the Middle East and North Africa and served as an outside expert for The Washington Institute for Near East Policy. She is a member of Jordanian chapter of the International Women’s Forum.
