Thailand is a tropical country in the Indo-Chinese peninsula of South-East Asia and is bordered by the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Cambodia in the north and east, Malaysia and the Gulf of Thailand in the south, and Myanmar in the west. The kingdom of Thailand covers about 200,000 square miles or 514,000 square km, an area slightly smaller than France.
