Chapter: Janet Currie (Princeton University)
Janet Currie was born in Ontario, Canada in 1960 and graduated with a BA and an MA in economics from the University of Toronto in 1982 and 1983 respectively before obtaining a PhD in economics from Princeton University in 1988. Professor Currie has taught at the University of California, Los Angeles, 1988–1991 and 1993–2006, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1991–1993, Columbia University, 2006–2011, and is currently serving as the Henry Putman Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University and the Director of Princeton’s Center for Health and Well Being. Professor Currie’s research focuses on the health and well-being of children.
