Cambodia is now the only ASEAN country without an enacted comprehensive competition law. In this chapter, based on their personal experience and discussions with key officials, the authors outline the history of the development of competition law in Cambodia, including identifying some of the significant sources of international assistance. In addition, the authors discuss other Cambodian laws that have been associated with or that incorporate provisions related to competition. Finally, while the draft Competition Law is continually evolving as it moves towards enactment, the chapter provides an overview of the relevant provisions of the draft Competition Law that were current at the time of writing.
