Chapter 6: Protecting rational choice: information and the right of withdrawal
This chapter focuses on two key instruments which serve to protect the consumer’s rational choice when contracting: pre-contractual information duties and withdrawal rights. It provides an in-depth insight into the various underlying policy motivations, doctrinal aspects, and legislative features in numerous jurisdictions. The strengths and weaknesses of each instrument are given in order to indicate possible future developments in this core area of consumer contract law.
