Turkish Cypriot leader Dervi_ Ero_lu responds to the Greek Cypriot position on the core issue of transition to a federal state by putting forward the notion of equal partnership. In terms of guarantees and security, he insists that Turkey’s presence is imperative for Turkish Cypriot safety, and questions the Annan Plan as the basis for territorial adjustments, insisting that much has changed in the intervening 14 years since the plan was submitted in 2004.
