Chapter 47: Overcoming writer’s block (and submission anxiety)

Fiona Archontoulis

I am currently sitting in a coffee shop. I have to write around 300 words about overcoming writer’s block and more importantly overcoming submission anxiety. My supervisor has given me 48 hours to write this and send it to him, otherwise it won’t be accepted. My time starts now! This is one way to have a spanner thrown in the works for your day (or weekend in this case), but besides that, what do I take from it? Does my supervisor really think I have had writer’s block and submission anxiety all this time he has been waiting for the drafts I promised? Did he not realise I was crafting a masterpiece that had to be perfected before sending it through for feedback? Or was my analysis paralysis obvious to everyone but me and stopping me from writing?
