Chapter 2: Innovation management through technology licensing in China
Chinese companies have increasingly been innovating based on licensed technologies. It is critical to understand how they managed to do so with regard to what types of technologies they seek, how they balance search strategies, and how they integrate licensed technologies with their internal knowledge bases through an effective learning process. The results of research during the last five years to some extent have unveiled these critical aspects behind the success of Chinese companies’ innovation through technology licensing. It is worthwhile to learn from the Chinese best practices and respond actively with a robust research and viable strategy.
